More Information About What We Do
Inclusion and Community Building
Mesabi Outdoor Adventures focuses on running most of our trips in a way that everyone can participate. You do not have to be an expert to come out with us and we welcome beginners to most of our activities. Building community for us is about bringing people up, teaching skills, and giving them a reason to come back and learn more. We accomplish this by
advertising and letting people know we are here as a community resource and also by providing gear and basic logistics to make it easier for newcomers attend. If you have questions, just send us a message.
We run day trips that utilize every recreation area on the Iron Range and surrounding area. This often includes biking, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, x-country skiing and more. Check out our past events on facebook to see a full description of what we're capable of.
Mesabi Outdoor Adventures plans overnight camping trips during all seasons. This has included canoeing overnights and winter camping in the BWCA.
Our signature moonlight outings take place nearly every month of the year! These are typically on or close to the full moon and provide a unique way to experience the beautiful outdoor resources in our area.
So far we have run two out of state expedition trips to the Sabinoso Wilderness in New Mexico and also to Olympic National Park in Washington State. We realize that getting out regularly and using resources close to home is important, but it's always a growing experience to go someplace you've never been.
